Strengths

  • Orator

One of Hitler’s greatest assets was his ability to make big speeches. Throughout his reign as leader of Germany, his words often excited his soldiers and citizens. After all, it’s what got him into power.

  • Visionary

Since founding the NSDAP, Hitler realized that Germany was in deep financial trouble. It made the average German’s life miserable. And after the night of long knives, he sought to make a better Germany. For all.

  • Charismatic

Hitler had the strange ability to charm almost anyone. While he was ill-tempered, when under the right conditions he could convince anyone.

Weaknesses

  • Delusional

Hitler often believed himself to be the true leader of Germany. Thinking too much of himself, was one of the reasons for his downfall. He also believed himself to be a great military strategist.

  • Stubborn

Hitler could never accept defeat, or face reality. The longer WWII went on, Hitler still felt he was certain. He also gave orders that no loyal soldier would ever obey.

  • Obsessive

During the last years of WWII, Hitler obsessed over ethnic cleansing with his new power. This obstructed any plans that could win him the war. Valuable coal and transportation systems were heavily occupied.

Accomplishments

  • Rebuilt the economy

After Germany’s defeat in WWI, the country was in deep financial. Hyperinflation ruined the Deutschmark to absolute worthlessness. One egg cost 1,000,000 marks. But when Hitler stepped in, he fixed Germany’s crisis. By following Keynesian theory, he restored the Deutschmark and many jobs.

  • Restored Germany

Not only did Hitler save Germany from financial disaster, he also brought Germany together as a unified country. With the best economy, efficient and productive industries, and the strongest air and land militaries.

Failures

  • Operation Barbarossa

One of Hitler’s more ambitious strategies was attempting to take over the Soviet Union. And despite taking important areas of Russia and Ukraine, the assault on Moscow was disastrous. Despite the failure, Hitler persisted and continued to do operations within the USSR. All which failed

  • Operation Sea Lion

Sea Lion was Hitler’s attempt to invade his greatest enemy. The British. The plan required massive air and sea support over the English channel. However, Hitler’s forces could not meet the channel. The operation got postponed indefinitely.

Trivia

  1. Hitler never shaved or changed his signature mustache because he thought it was still in style.
  2. Hitler never exercised or played any game. Except for a walk.
  3. Hitler loved circuses. As he enjoyed watching underpaid performers risk their lives entertaining.
  4. Despite loathing Jews, he enjoyed watching films starring Jewish comedians.
  5. If Hitler speaks about any sort of Opera or Wagner, the audience cannot interrupt him.

Analysis

Nobody can really “like” or “admire” Hitler. But he certainly set an example. A warning. A warning to never let psychopaths rule a country. And while Hitler fixed many of Germany’s problems, he still tainted its reputation forever. He was simply the right man in right place. And he certainly made all the difference in the world.

History

Hitler will forever be remembered as one of the cruelest dictators in the world. But that does not excuse the fact he had a dream. And he pursued it. He was charismatic, intelligent, and had a clear vision. And it’s unfortunate that many still perceive him as nothing but a madman.
