Bird Website

  • Price & Functions

There are a total of three packages. Personal($4/mo), premium($8/mo) and business($25/mo). Each tier reflecting what the user at hand needs. Personal provides basic use with 6GB worth of storage space. Premium offers video support, monetization, and 13GB of space. Business gives unlimited storage space, access to analytics, and the ability to remove the WordPress branding entirely.

  • Personal Suggestions

For the purpose of creating a gallery and displaying my photography, I would choose the premium package. In addition to the storage space, I can also make some money off of my work via the monetization feature. There’s also the neat addition of premium website themes and CSS related customization. However, let’s assume that the photos I took in the last five years take up 12GB of space. I would then have to be extremely conservative about how many photos I can upload. So in the long run, the business package would be worth it. Of course, at double the cost. At the end of one year with the premium package, I would be billed a total of $96(minus tax). With the business package, I would pay $300 at the end of one year. It’s clear that the most economical option is premium. But genuinely unlimited space is also nice. At the end of the day, I would choose premium

  • Development

Photography websites are very easy to create as they require only a few components. Namely, an about page, the gallery itself, a merchandise section, and a blog talking about the latest and greatest photos you’ve taken. For a photography blog about a secular subject like in this case, birds, it should take no longer than 2 weeks for the site to come to fruition.

  • Conclusions

With WordPress, creating a website becomes an easy task and doesn’t require much or any knowledge of programming. However, you do need a fundamental understanding of web design. Such as font choice, colors, and widget placement. So with a little effort creating a blog about birds should be no trouble at all.
